Kathak Dance with Shilpi ChatterjeeBharathanatyam & Kathak DanceJoin Katha Dance Theatre (KDT) to learn non-verbal communication through the classical storytelling dance of India, Kathak. Using graceful movements, meaningful hand gestures, facial expressions, intricate footwork, multiple spins, and music, students will learn how to tell a story! The goal is to provide participants with a new and enjoyable experience that enables them to be creative, physically active, and exposed to a new culture in a comfortable and supportive environment. This class is designed for beginner level dancers. Class Times Separated Level: Wednesdays:• 6:00–7:00 PM – Group 2A (existing students)• 7:00–8:00 PM – Group 1B (existing students)Fridays:• 6:00–7:00 PM – Brand-new beginners Instructor Shilpi Chatterjee is a Company dancer and one of the dance school instructors of Katha Dance Theatre. She pursued her Kathak dance education in India for a decade before relocating to Minnesota, where she continues her training under the guidance of Guru Rita Mustaphi at KDT. She has received awards at many district-level dance competitions in India and showcased her talents with the Bengali Association of Minnesota. In 2021, she earned the Jury Award at the Urvashi Dance, Music, Art, and Culture Society's international talent competition. Participants will learn fun sideline cheers and choreography, then perform alongside the Varsity squad during a high school football game. Don’t miss this exciting opportunity to learn, perform, and shine with the Panther Cheer Team! Timeline: 4:45 pm Learn Material & Pizza 6:30 pm-Beginning of Halftime - Walk to Football Sideline to cheer on the team! SpanishSpanishGrades K-5 Come learn Spanish with Language Sprout. This elementary-focused, immersive program will get your child speaking fast. Our classes combine theme based and grammar lessons with hands-on learning to meet your child at their right level. Class includes a parent portal for continued learning at home. The program fees include a workbook and materials. This program meets twice per week throughout the school year to give students the best experience in second language acquisition. Note: students will be charged for any lost materials that need to be replaced. Instructor: Language Sprout Please keep in mind we need at least 13 people to run a class, and being that this is a year long commitment we like to open registration as early as we can. We typically decide if a class will run or if we have to cancel 2 weeks before the class start date, so please don’t wait too long to register. ** If we get enough interest at another location we may consider adding a class at another elementary school, however, if a class is not offered at your child’s “home” school, they are welcome to attend at another location, however, transportation is the parents responsibility. If you are interested in starting a class at a school not listed below, please email katey.radant@isd194.org. If we get 10 interested families we can consider adding a class at that location. 26-27 School Year, 52 classes, class takes place twice pr week Cherry View: Mon & Wed 8:15-9:15 am, starting Oct 5 Lake Marion: Mon & Wed 8:15-9:15 am, starting Oct 5 Eastview: Tues & Thurs 8:15-9:15 am, starting Oct 20 Highview: Tues & Thurs 8:15-9:15 am, starting Oct 20 Lakeview: Mon & Wed 3:25-4:25 pm, starting Oct 5 Oak Hills Tues & Thurs 3:20-4:20 pm, starting Oct 20 Payment Info $925 one time fee at time of registration or 6 monthly payments of $150. $25 registration fee and 1 month tuition due at time of registration ($175). Remaining 5 payments due on the 5th of each month, Nov-March. Try the class for 2 weeks (4 class dates) and if you don’t think it is a good fit after that you will only be charged the $25 registration fee.
