Kathak Dance with Shilpi ChatterjeeBharathanatyam & Kathak DanceJoin Katha Dance Theatre (KDT) to learn non-verbal communication through the classical storytelling dance of India, Kathak. Using graceful movements, meaningful hand gestures, facial expressions, intricate footwork, multiple spins, and music, students will learn how to tell a story! The goal is to provide participants with a new and enjoyable experience that enables them to be creative, physically active, and exposed to a new culture in a comfortable and supportive environment. This class is designed for beginner level dancers. Class Times Separated Level: 6:00–7:00 PM – 2A Adult (Continuing) 7:00–8:00 PM – 1B Adult (Continuing) 8:00–9:00 PM – New beginner students Instructor Shilpi Chatterjee is a Company dancer and one of the dance school instructors of Katha Dance Theatre. She pursued her Kathak dance education in India for a decade before relocating to Minnesota, where she continues her training under the guidance of Guru Rita Mustaphi at KDT. She has received awards at many district-level dance competitions in India and showcased her talents with the Bengali Association of Minnesota. In 2021, she earned the Jury Award at the Urvashi Dance, Music, Art, and Culture Society's international talent competition. Kindercats Cheer TeamElementaryWelcome to Lakeville Cheer! Kindergarten (26-27 SY) This class is intended for athletes who will be in Kindergarten for the upcomign school year (26-27') and are ready to learn the basics in cheerleading! This class will teach entry skills such as motions, jumps, dance and crowd leading work. During the season we will work on sideline cheers and work to prepare a mini routine for the Lakeville Invite. A parent email will be sent out a couple weeks prior to the start date of practice with all important information regarding practice attire, apparel and team expecations for the season. Our program offers a variety of fun activities, learning experiences and exciting adventures. Breakfast, lunch and snack are provided Mondays through Thursdays, as well as breakfast and snack on Fridays. Summer Adventures fits your schedule!
