4 Day Private, Semi-Private, or Adapted Swim LessonsPrivate and Semi Private Lessons*Please note, Fee Assistance is not available for Private or Semi-Private Swim Lessons. Private or Semi-Private Lessons: This class is designed to aid those who need extra help passing a level or working on a specific skill. More individualized attention will be given to specific areas of need. All lessons are scheduled as private lessons by default. If you would like a semi-private lesson, select one child to enroll and include the second child’s name in the enrollment questions, along with your request for a semi-private lesson. Children participating in semi-private lessons should be at a similar skill level. Safety topics include basic water safety, healthy swimming, safe water entry, helping yourself and others in an emergency, use of lifejackets, safe weather conditions for swimming, and waterpark safety. Skills: Shallow dive Head-first surface dive to 7 ft. and retrieve object Flip turn: Front crawl Flip turn: Back crawl Tread water, 2 min. using different kicks Front crawl, 50 yd. American Heart Association CPR and First Aid ClassesSafety & Certification ClassesNo age requirement, however, student who wish to receive a certification, must be able to perform successful compressions (2 inches in depth) on an adult manikin. Come learn from some of the best instructors in Minnesota! CPR Professionals has just celebrated its 21st year training and we are excited to move into the Lakeville area to offer classes. We customize these courses specifically to the group and have fun realistic scenarios to practice real life emergencies. First Aid classes start at 1:30 pm and take approximately 1.5 hours CPR classes start at 3 pm and take approximately 2 hours Choose from the following classes: BLS Provider: Medical level CPR class for medical professionals. 2 year AHA certificate included. All ages are covered including AED, ambu (artificial manual breathing unit) bag, oxygen, choking and changes for professional rescues. $98 Heartsaver CPR: Non medical CPR class for daycare providers or anyone needing a 2 year AHA certificate. Pool water temperature is 80-82 degrees. Locker rooms and showers are available. There is no ramp or stairs at the CMS Pool, however, there is a lift, if needed to get into and out of the pool. Healing Sounds Floating Class - Pay as you goWater FitnessStarting SoonAges 18 and up Experience relaxation and calm through sound healing, reiki, guided visualization and breathwork all while floating on an air mat in the pool. Eye pillows and head towels will be provided. Please wear comfortable clothing that can get wet or your swim suit and bring a towel. In most cases you will stay dry on the air mat for the complete class. Must know how to swim. Embark on this complete wellness water floating class to soothe the soul this summer. Lifeguard Training - Blended Learning CourseSafety & Certification ClassesAges 15 and up Become certified in American Red Cross Lifeguarding for pools and waterparks, First Aid and CPR/AED for the Professional Lifeguard. This course will be offered in a blended learning format. Online material will be available one week prior to the start of class. Online module completion is required prior to the first day of the course. If the online modules are not completed prior to the class start date, the student cannot participate in the course. All in person sessions will be held at Century Middle School Pool/Pool Classroom. Attendance at all class sessions is mandatory. **Registration closes on July 30 at 7 am to allow time for participants to complete online modules prior to the first in person class. Refunds will not be issued after the course materials are sent. This course needs 5 students to run. Age Prerequisite: 15 years of age by the first day of the class. Skill Prerequisites: Prerequisite skills will be evaluated at the beginning of the first day. Those who do not meet the skill requirements will not be allowed to stay for the class. Only a partial refund will be issued if students cannot complete the prerequisite as this takes a spot from another potential student. Lifeguarding Swim-Tread-Swim Sequence Swim 150 yards using the front crawl, breaststroke or a combination of both. - Swimming on the back or side is not permitted. - Swim goggles are allowed. Maintain position at the surface of the water for 2 minutes by treading water using only the legs. Swim 50 yards using the front crawl, breaststroke or a combination of both. Timed Event - Complete a timed event within 1 minute, 40 seconds Starting in the water, swim 20 yards. - The face may be in or out of the water. - Swim goggles are not allowed. Surface dive (feet-first or head-first) to a depth of 7 to 10 feet to retrieve a 10-pound object. Return to the surface and swim 20 yards on the back to return to the starting point, holding the object at the surface with both hands and keeping the face at or near the surface. Only Coast Guard approved flotation devices may be used, NO inflatables will be allowed. Swimmers may use approved goggles. *Note: Diving well may not be available at Century Middle School during Open Swim on Friday, July 24. Children under 2 are free, however, please register each child so we can stay within our max allowed in the pool. A responsible adult must stay in the pool area with any swimmer under 16 years of age. Those who cannot swim the width of the pool must be under the direct supervision of a responsible adult. There is a lift available for use to enter/exit the pool if needed. Please let the lifeguard know and they will provide assistance with the getting into and out of the pool. Summer Adventures Swim LessonsSummer Adventures Swim LessonsSummer Adventures & Summer Wonder Zone Swim Lessons **These classes are ONLY for students who are enrolled in the Summer Adventures or Summer Wonder Zone child care program for the summer. Regular swim lesson registration can be found HERE. Swim lessons are offered in 2 week sessions during weeks 2-3, 5-6, and 7-8, Mondays - Thursdays, at a discounted rate for Summer Adventures and Summer Wonder Zone participants who are entering grades K-6 in the 2026-27 school year. Students will be bussed from their Summer Adventures site to the McGuire Middle School pool and back for swim lessons for those who are registered in advance. JFK students will walk to the pool for swim lessons. Group lessons offered will include Aqua Kids 2, Beginner 1, Beginner 2, Intermediate 1, Intermediate 2 and Advanced. No private, semi-private or adapted lessons will be offered during Summer Adventures swim lessons.
