The program provides a positive and safe environment for students to receive homework help. After-school enrichment programs have been shown to help improve student’s confidence, academic achievement, creativity, time management skills, influence teamwork, and relieve stress on working families. ACT Prep Courses with Advantage Educational ProgramsACT PrepAdvantage Educational Programs gives students the option of preparing for the ACT exam in three different ways: the In-School ACT Preparatory Course, the Virtual ACT Preparatory Course, or the Online ACT Preparatory Course. All three courses are designed for students who want to maximize their ACT exam score, as well as those who feel uneasy about their test-taking skills or who have take the exam and aren't satisfied with their results. In-School ACT Preparatory Course This course consists of four, three-hour classes that meet one day each week. The course includes diagnostic testing, instruction in time management, overcoming test anxiety, science reasoning, English strategies and review, essay writing, reading comprehension, and math strategies and review. Students enrolled in these classes not only benefit from personal instruction taught by our experienced instructors, but also have free access to our online course. Fee: $180, includes all course materials Repeat this course online at no extra charge! Virtual ACT Preparatory Course This course is an excellent alternative for any student unable to attend an in-school class, but still prefers the interaction with one of our Advantage instructors. The Virtual ACT Prep Course is the same as the In-School ACT Prep Course, but from the comfort of your own home. Our instructors teach live via our virtual classroom and are available to answer questions if needed. The Sandwich Project was created to help addresshunger throughout the year, not just during the holiday season. What began as a mission to feed 150 people has grown into an organization that now helps provide more than 2,500 sandwiches each week to those in need across the Minneapolis and St. Paul area.This is a meaningful way to give back and see how small acts of kindness can make a big impact. Starting SoonYouth in GovernmentGovernmentGrades 8-12 Interested in discussing important current issues and simulating state government? Then Youth in Government (YIG) is for you! In YIG, students in grades 8-12 pick an area of interest and then assume the role of legislator, court of appeals lawyer, newspaper reporter, lobbyist, or other government position. Students prepare legislation, debate bills, write court briefs, or dozens of other things as they prepare for their particular role. The program culminates with 4 days of model assembly in January at the Minneapolis Hilton and St. Paul Capitol complex.
