NEW! Bharatanatyam and Kathak Classical Dance LessonsAll Ages Lakeville Community Education is excited to partner with local dance instructors to offer Bharatanatyam and Kathak classical dance courses for all ages. These ancient classical dance forms come from India, and are known for their detailed hand gestures, called mudras, disciplined footwork and facial expressions. Bharatanatyam & Kathak Dances will encourage students to work on focus, self development, positivity and confidence. These two dance forms are derived from spiritual practices, but are being taught only as cultural and classical dance art form through this program. These classes are open to all students in the community, and all are welcome to join! Bharatanatyam Dance Discover the timeless art of Bharatanatyam, classical Indian dance forms that seamlessly blend storytelling, expression, rhythm, and devotion. Through engaging lessons, you will: Explore the foundational postures and basic hand gestures. Learn rhythmic footwork and their coordination with rhythm. Understand the role of expressions in conveying emotions and narratives. Aspirants grow into an individual artist with confidence and body conditioning to appreciate the aesthetics and pursue any dance form! Whether you are a beginner or a dance enthusiast, this class will guide you through the basics while cultivating an appreciation for one of India’s most revered art forms. Join us to embark on a journey that celebrates tradition, grace, and rhythm! Kathak Dance Join Katha Dance Theatre (KDT) to learn non-verbal communication through the classical storytelling dance of India, Kathak. Using graceful movements, meaningful hand gestures, facial expressions, intricate footwork, multiple spins, and music, students will learn how to tell a story! The goal is to provide participants with a new and enjoyable experience that enables them to be creative, physically active, and exposed to a new culture in a comfortable and supportive environment.

Community Education Children's Theater Partner

Open gyms are intended for both new and returning members interested in cheering during the 2024-2025 Season. This includes squads such as JV Comp, Varsity Comp, Varsity North Sideline, and Varsity South Sideline.

Kid Zone is a before and after school program offered at each elementary school, which provides care and enrichment opportunities to children in kindergarten through 5th grade.

Calling all kids, entering grades 1-6 Experience our Summer Adventures care and enrichment program for children entering grades 1-6 for children in Lakeville Area Schools and the surrounding area! Our program offers a variety of fun activities, learning experiences and exciting adventures. Breakfast, lunch and snack are provided Mondays through Thursdays, as well as breakfast and snack on Fridays. Summer Adventures fits your schedule! Families can participate full time or part time throughout the summer. Choose five days a week or less, every week throughout the summer or only the weeks needed.
