Starting SoonLakeville Cheer Elementary Advanced CompElementaryGrades 2-6 Tryouts are required before registering. *All grade levels follow the MCCA State guidelines and/or National High School Cheerleading Championship (NHSCC) guidelines. This squad is designed to help prepare athletes for the Middle School Level and will require very strong commitment & dedication. Athletes will be working on skills required for a traditional competition routine, including jumps, stunts, and tumbling at the level that keeps us competitive within the state. Members on this squad should have 1-2 years of experience on a previous elementary team (ie, Red, White, Black Squad or Elementary Comp). They will compete at 3-5 local competitions, including State. Members on this squad will need to meet minimum skills/scores at tryouts. Please note that 2nd graders are eligible for this squad but are required to have a back walkover for placement. Offering introductory and recreation cheerleading to local and national level competition teams, Lakeville Cheerleading strives to meet students where they are at while providing a fun and safe environment to learn the sport of cheerleading. In addition to our competitive teams, we also offer sideline cheerleading for our two high school football teams, and other sports as requested. Lakeville Online Academy: Health Issues Summer Online (Current grades 9-11)Lakeville Online Academy Summer ProgramsCurrent Grades 9-11 This course is the study of various topics related to the condition of a person’s physical, mental, emotional, and social well-being. The primary units of study include nutrition, mental health and stress management, family life, noninfectious disease, substance abuse, first aid and CPR. The students will demonstrate learning through completion of assignments, tests, and projects. The students will be expected to plan nutritious meals and develop a healthy weight management plan; research a noninfectious disease and develop a lesson to teach the class; examine characteristics of mental health and mental disorders; examine the effects of stress and practice coping skills; evaluate reasons to postpone sexual activity and practice refusal skills; examine the risks of commonly abused drugs; demonstrate proper CPR and AED techniques; and demonstrate first aid skills.Lakeville Online Academy: Summer Options 2026

Lakeville Online Academy: Physical Education Summer Online (Current Grades 9-11)Lakeville Online Academy Summer ProgramsCurrent Grades 9 -11 This summer course fulfills the Physical Education requirement for the Class of 2029 and the Physical Education elective requirement for the Class of 2027, 2028, and 2029 This physical education course satisfies current Minnesota and local academic standards and graduation requirements. This course expands and builds upon the concepts and skills learned in previous physical education courses. Students will enhance their quality of movement by understanding, developing, and transferring fitness and sports-based concepts and skills to various activities and will understand the fundamentals of Meaningful Physical Education. This course is designed to help move students toward confidently and competently caring for their physical and mental wellness by finding meaningful and enjoyable life-long activities. The courses are delivered fully online. We do not meet face-to-face. All work is to be completed and submitted by the last day of the course. A pacing guide is provided for students to stay on track to complete the work by the end of the eight weeks. Physical Education will require five 30 minute workouts over five different days each week. Polar HRM are REQUIRED for this course. Watches are to be picked up and dropped off at Pathways academy, 19455 Kenwood Trail, Door #3. Located in Kenwood Trail Middle School. School issued HRM will be available for pick up starting May 28th. If you already have a Health, Fitness Tracker, you are welcome to use the device. Each student is required to complete a minimum of 3 hours of exercise each week. Exercise will be recorded on a fitness log and documented using a Heart Rate Monitor that will be provided. Lap SwimAdult Lap SwimAges 18+ Swim laps at your own pace. Equipment is available for use including kickboards, pull buoys and fins. Pool water temperature is 80-82 degrees. Locker rooms and showers are available. There is no ramp or stairs at the CMS Pool, however, there is a lift, if needed to get into and out of the pool.
